Jacobson Family Reunion

Sophia had a lot of firsts this week. We had a wonderful week in the UP for Sophia's first Jacobson family reunion! Sophia also went on her first (and 2nd, 3rd and 4th) plane trip. She did amazing! We had a connection in Milwaukee so our travel days were long, but Sophia is a great traveler. She only cried once- in the middle of the second flight- for a few minutes when she had trouble getting to sleep. Other than that, she slept most of the flights and her pacifier seemed to keep her ears clear during take off and landing. We arrived in the UP last Monday night at 10 pm and were pleased to see Aunt Libby at the airport waiting for us! Unfortunately, our bags did not arrive, so we hit the road for Gramma Jacobson's house. Since we didn't pull in the driveway until midnight, the next day we were all a bit tired. Luckily, Gramma has a massage chair where Sophia and Axel relaxed in the morning.

Late Tuesday night, most of the rest of the clan arrived. Sophia loved meeting all of her aunts, uncles and cousins!
Ashyn and Emma seemed to hit it off right away and had fun with their Dora stickers! They were so good about sharing- Sophia ended up with a back full of stickers by the end of the night.
Kierie was so good holding and helping to take care of Sophia- she's counting down until she's old enough to babysit!
Auntie Lisa and Emma had some nice snuggle time with Sophia. We were so pleased to see how happy Sophia was to sit with everyone!
Our first afternoon was a bit chilly- good thing we brought the sweater that Gramma Favazza knit for Sophia! She finished it just in time! So cute and snuggly, and perfect for keeping the bugs off. Here Sophia is cuddling with Auntie Marie.

Gramma's trampoline provided hours of fun for kids of all ages. Well, most of the kids. While her cousins tried to convince Sophia that she should try it out, we decided that she's a little too young.



After they literally ran circles around Gramma, Ashlyn and Kierie enjoyed a nice rest on the trampoline and listened to Gramma tell stories.

Auntie Steph arrived later in the week with JJ and Sophia had even more people to hang out with and look at!

Sophia went on her first hike this week- we climbed Silver Mountain. The whole family except Gramma made it all the way to the top and were rewarded with a beautiful view! Sophia rode up strapped to Mommy (who was a bit tired by the time we made it up) and then switched to Daddy for the trip back down. We climbed at about the same pace as Emma, who climbed all of the steps all by herself!

On our last day in the UP, Axel and Uncle Nate worked a bit on his old Mercedes. Unfortunetely, it wouldn't move, so they weren't able to wash it but they seemed to have fun tinkering with it.
