Grandma-in-the-woods Comes to Visit

We were very happy to have Grandma-in-the-woods come in for a week to visit. Sophia hasn't seen her since last July, so this visit was quite a treat!
We've been having some hot days, so we spent some time cooling off in the backyard by Sophia's pool!

Grandma took us all out to dinner. Sophia was getting a bit antsy in her chair before dinner arrived, so Axel distracted her with the sugar packets. It worked wonders! She organized, smooshed, and stacked them back in their container until our food came. It also helped that we were seated within viewing of an open kitchen area and Sophia loved to see the occational whoosh of flames as the food was cooking.

Playing by the pool with Grandma. Sophia prefers to splash around the outside of the pool and toss her toys in. Grandma stepped into the pool to try to convince Sophia to join her. It didn't work, but Sophia loved watching her throw her ball up in the air and try to catch it.

Some of Grandma's throws were a little high, and she eventaully got it stuck in the tree. Axel had to get out the ladder and poke it free.
